Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-21

1. Overview

GeoScore is a free, open-source audit tool. This policy explains what data we collect, what we don't, and why. The short version: we collect almost nothing, we never sell anything, and the audit tool runs entirely in your browser.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

The GeoScore audit runs 100% client-side. When you enter a URL to audit:

  • The URL is fetched directly from your browser to public proxies and the target site.
  • The URL is never sent to our servers (we don't have any application servers).
  • The URL is never logged, never stored, and never shared with third parties.

3. Data We Do Collect

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns. GA4 collects:

  • Page views (URL paths only, no query strings with audit URLs)
  • Referrer (the previous website you came from)
  • Country and city (derived from IP, then discarded)
  • Device type, browser, operating system
  • Screen resolution and viewport size

IP anonymization is enabled. We do not enable Google Signals. We do not use advertising cookies.

4. Cookies

GeoScore uses no first-party cookies. GA4 may set its own cookies for visitor identification; you can opt out via your browser's Do Not Track setting, the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.

5. Third-Party Services

GeoScore relies on the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

6. Children's Privacy

GeoScore is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will be noted in the GitHub repository changelog.
